The latest version of Visual Studio 2022 Preview for Mac V17.6 Preview 1 build 1766 is now supported on MacinCloud Managed Servers with macOS Monterey or later. This version of Visual Studio currently supports the latest version of Xamarin.iOS. Try a Mac Server with Visual Studio for Mac pre-installed by obtaining a Managed Server Plan to quickly get started!

What's New?

  • The CTRL-G/Goto command (part of the Search/Go To menu) allows users to go to a specific place (in hex or decimal format) in the hex editor.
  • Quick Actions (Light Bulbs) will now be loaded asynchronously with Async Lightbulb/QuickFix, enhancing performance.
  • Due to API changes in Visual Studio for Mac that have an impact on extensions, the extension compatibility was updated to version 17.5.
  • The editor change indication no longer depicts an offscreen modification that makes it appear as though the entire view has changed.
  • Fixed a crash that can occur when debugging a Mono project under specific conditions.
  • Update references in .razor files along with .cs files when renaming.

Xamarin.iOS Remote Build with Microsoft Visual Studio for Mac:

If you wish to utilize Xamarin's Build Host feature with MacinCloud Managed Server Plans, please select the "enable remote build port" add-on at checkout. This enables the SSH port on the Mac server account and allows Visual Studio for Windows work with the Mac account to provide remote build features.
